the Department of Information Engineering, the Clinical Biochemistry Lab and the Chair of General Psychology of the University of Pisa, with the patronage of the "G. Monasterio" Foundation and the Institute of Clinical Physiology of the Italian National Research Council,  are organizing the 5th FMRI Analysis Workshop with AFNI and SUMA. The course will be held in PisaItaly from Monday May 31st to  Friday June 4th, 2010. This is a course designed to cover basic and advanced topics of volume- and surface-based FMRI analyses using AFNI and SUMA software (http://afni.nimh.nih.gov/).

Topics during the 5-Day intensive workshop include:

  • AFNI basics
  • Regression analysis: Fixed Shape, Variable Shape, and Auxiliary Behavioral Information
  • Group analysis: Random Effects, Mixed Effect, Outlier Detection, and Covariate Modeling
  • Connectivity Modeling: PPI, Functional Connectivity, SEM, and Multivariate Granger Causality
  • Surface-based analysis: Single-subject and Group-based
  • Resting State Pre-processing: Scanner, Physiological Noise Removal (i.e., RETROICOR)
  • Instant Interactive Single-Subject and Group Connectivity Maps: Volume-based and Surface-based
  • Advanced AFNI/SUMA: Interface Automation for Handling Large Collections of Data
  • Real-time: Data Quality, Feedback, and Multivariate Analysis

Drs. Robert W. CoxZiad S. Saad, and Gang Chen from the Scientific and Statistical Computing Core of the NIMH Intramural Research Program, will be conducting the workshop. Classes will be held at the C.N.R. Research Campus in Pisa (http://www.ifc.cnr.it/index.php/en/directions-and-maps)
